@Fiddlerman -

I actually played the Viola part 1 that goes with Click Track 2, I just said part 2.Β

Was that okay?Β

Also, wouldn't mind a bit if someone photoshop'd a smile on my face!(lol)

Help! Β I’m missing from Fiddlerman’s updated participant list. Β I played violin part 2.

My video file name is Β 2_Carolyn.mp4

I sent an email to Fiddlerman at precisely 9:00 p.m. last night containing the Dropbox link to my video. Β

I just emailed Fiddlerman now to let him know that I’m missing from the list.

After all that work, I’d hate to be left out.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Β Thanks so much!

@Unfretted and everyone else who submitted and did not show up on the list, Fiddlerman asked that you contact him.Β

Please email him. I suggest you put this on the subject line so he knows it is a time sensitive email:

Group Project - My name is missing (or something to that affect)

To save time and emailing back and forth, include the instrument, part, and method you used to send the video, and approximate date and time in the email.Β

We can't do anything here, you need to contact Fiddlerman, as he requested at the bottom of the list that showed who he received submissions from.Β

Hope this helps.

Of course. 😁 Pay no attention to what it says by the file names. Most of them are left alone but I've changed a few for my own notes.

Also, wouldn't mind a bit if someone photoshop'd a smile on my face!(lol)Β Β

I can't help you with that, but we can picture that smile on your face as we watch. 🀣

No worries Carolyn, this is why I post the list. I had not seen your submission until you resent it. No idea why but I get many hundreds of emails every day. Last few projects, I missed tens of submissions. Occasionally I've had to redo the final product to compensate for my errors. This year I hope not to miss anyone and I'm very happy you reached out.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Β Thanks so much!

Please check again that your submission is here. I don't want to have to redo it. I've already mixed 148 audio tracks. :)

This is part of the problem. I may have to finally break down and buy a super computer. I'm still working off of a laptop. :)
Granted, it's a powerful laptop.

Fortunately I've developed techniques to allow it all to work.

First of all I extract the audio from every video sent to me. Then I place all the tracks in a program called Logic Pro and line up the sine waves from all the similar parts using my own tracks as a reference. That takes over a day for me with this many tracks. I mess with balance a bit but make sure that all parts are audible before joining them. It doesn't mean that you will hear your part out of the mix but it does mean that your part contributed to the mix.

Next I choose the videos which I'll use for the final project. I then export them to video without audio using "Hand Brake".

I then pull all videos into a new project on Final Cut Pro and allow the application to create proxy files. I line up the videos to time with the one audio file I created with Logic Pro and make pages of videos which I will later turn into compound clips to allow my processor to handle them. In this case I created 2 full pages 6 X 6 videos and a third page with an extra vertical line to make 78 total videos. So effectively I had 3 pages but only a sixth to be used of the one. The tricky part, which you guys will see when you see the video, was calculating the rate of the float to make sure that the 3 pages don't overlap or create a blank space. For that I had to do some heavy duty math. LOL

When the project is ready I change the view to original/optimized files instead of proxy and allow the processor to process the files. This is usually best done at night when I'm sleeping as it handicaps my laptop LOL.

Exporting is the easy part after this stage.

It will be posted today. Just need to tweak the project a little bit.

yeah..youve had your hands full on this one.Β  I can see that one becoming overwhelming quickly.Β  The computer I have is an just your standard dell desktop from office depot.Β  i did max out the ram...but i still will have to change settings depending on whether im recording or using a virtual instrument.Β  if i dont change buffer sizes and sample rate in the daw ill get latency recording or clicking and dropouts in playback.Β  Aand the most tracks i think ive had at one time were maybe 10.Β Β
