Adding a better "Huish The Cat" - this video from Ciana also includes a couple other great tunes - "P.M. Donald MacLean of Lewis" & "Lochiel's Welcome to Glasgow"

"Huish The Cat" - Jig in D dorian (sheet music)

How about another Jig - a Cricket tune?

I'm pretty sure at least one other Killarney video somewhere - Katie Davis Henderson plays fiddle, Colin Botts plays the guitar for "The Cricket Marches Over the Salt Box" and also "The Silver Spear" & "Contradiction".

The Cricket's March Over The Salt Box Jig - Sheet Music

I'm learning the Old Grey Cat, now. 😊

@elcbk heres another take on The old Grey Cat.

They do a great job of INTENTIONALLY 😁  imitating a cats meow..lol

So I ran across the tune in The Portland Collection. a couple years ago and played around with it.  Ive always thought that the B part is either where cold frosty mornings B part came from or the other way around.  This is closer to old timey thats in Portland Book..

Seen them, except for the Fiddle Folk Family - GREAT sense of humor!

Loved their version of "The Old Grey Cat" - thanks!

...and a couple tunes to crow about!

The Crow Road Croft, by Lauren MacColl - link is to Sheet Music & midi at thesession.org.  I'm having a really hard time calling this a waltz, just doesn't sound like one (but what do I know).  Really lovely tune!

The Crow In The Sun (Reel), by Dáithí Sproule - link to Sheet Music & midi.  Absolutely beautiful when played as an Air, like by Liz Carroll!

Right now, I'M HUNGRY FOR CHICKEN!!!

The Boiling Hen - my new favorite CRITTER tune!  No waiting on this one, already started to learn it, can't lose focus on that B part!  Sheet music for it in Gdor & also Edor - at thesession.org!

It starts at 1:43, after "Jonny's Flush" (also a great tune)!  Played by The McDades, a Canadian Folk band!

Actually, I think there's more than one hen - sounds like they're still alive! 😳

CHEEKAN!

...couldn't resist, maybe someday we'll have microwave ovens like this. (lol) Yep, one of my FAVORITE films... it's addictive. 😎

Hungry for chicken?

Just starting to get some of these last few tunes committed to memory, but another rabbit hole lead me to these wonderful MYTHICAL CRITTER tunes - in my favorite minor keys!

Waltzes & Jigs - I can't resist'em!

"The Unicorn Set" - The Unicorn Waltz, Trip To Pakistan & An Andro from The Tannahill Weavers!  Link is to sheet music in Emin & midi at thesession.org - plus great bit of info behind the name of this tune composed by Stuart Morison!

The Unicorn Jig

Composed by Roger Leach - a fairly recent addition to the Session, worth a try!  This jig is in Dmin!
