@BillyG -
Thank you SOOOO MUCH!
I know your head was about to explode, but you only looked/sounded a little more relaxed to me. (lol) I still worry about/have problems with a coughing fit once in a while, while I'm playing - last few months hasn't been too bad, though.
Great hearing some wonderful new tunes & some I haven't heard you play in a while.
... reminds me I only have 7 months left if I want to learn "When I'm Sixty-Four" - while I'm still 64!
Before I forget, meant to ask - do you position your mic in front of you, or angle off to a particular side? Even with your cold, your voice is very clear in your recordings.
I hope more FM members check out Street Jelly and participate!
Wonderful performance, Billy!

@BillyG was a trooper for playing while sick and did great I've done it once or twice, and it can be so hard to keep your head straight and remember what you're playing, lol.
I skimmed through my playback to analyze my playing and see what I want to work on; it didn't freeze on me, but doesn't mean it didn't freeze in a place I skimmed through. I did a recording, but it won't download for me this time. I'll try again later.
For mics... I position mine in front of me to the right, where the f-holes kind of face while I'm playing. I've been playing around with how I like to set it, but I keep it in that general area. My phone mic does just fine being straight on.

@ELCBK -
Relaxed? Oh that would be the result of a certain "cold remedy" I had supped upon earlier - limits the coughing and so on - and stated on the label "alcohol to be avoided" LOL. That also probably explains the wonderful effect of the two hot-toddies I had following the show and the ensuing 10 hours unbroken sleep !!!

It's a fun tune - it is just so open for "interpretation" LOL. Go for it ! I sometimes worry I take-things-just-too-far from listeners' expectations - especially when messing with a "classic piece" like that. Still, I don't care....

Mic is a cardioid-pattern directional mic - it is off to my right (ish...) - Imagine face on to camera being "north" - the mic is NE of me. I have noticed on some recordings, if I move (rotate) too much to my left (which I am prone to doing....LOL), the recorded level can be attenuated. [ In theory, yes, were the mic directly in-line between the camera and myself I'd be right in the middle of the frontal pickup lobe of the polar cardioid field, but, again, a rotation of me (or just the instrument a full 90 degrees) pretty much gives the same issue].
I do have a choice of pick-up I can attach to the instrument (I like the Barcus Berry one particularly) and gives quite a different sound quality (no room ambience etc) - but therein lie issues for live shows - if I want voice as well - I gotta use a separate mic (and NOT the Samson - otherwise the final audio would be some kind of uncontrollable mix of the pickup and the room audio). But a show without chat and audience engagement would, to me, be just a joke.
On first thoughts, a way out of that problem would be to use some kind of lapel-mic like a proximity-lavalier type for voice - and that would also require the mixer to be brought into play. However..... because of the sheer proximity of the instrument to the mic it would surely react to the instrument sound. It's a configuration I'm still thinking about - possibly, just possibly some kind of quick mute/footswitch could on-demand, bring the second mic (lav mic) into use - but that's not a great solution really - it would really want a quick fade-in (and probably out as well) to avoid unwanted clicks etc coming from the sudden change in audio level... I have other solutions in mind as well, but that's enough for now.

@damfino - LOL @ "trooper" - yeah - I recall one of these shows of yours Mandy, but, we fight-on, it's what we do ! Ohhhh - I recall one show I did - I had been painting all day (gloss paint, poorly ventilated room) - my head was spinning and I could scarcely speak coherently, let alone play.... Still, it was taken in good humor and we all had a great laugh at my struggles!
I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh -

Nice to see you.... I am out of school ... Finished up my degree. I cut my nails and I can say I have been playing a bit of violin...
My same ole... Ashokan and holiday tunes, and Old Joe.... But it has been fun to play and realize all is not lost.
I need to have a comeback tune.
Thanks for including me.
