I have "play along parts" done already for myself - I took Pierre's score and have just finished placing them into MuseScore at what appears to be the correct tempo ( 72 bpm - and for all 8 parts ).  BUT - READERS - never forget - the absolute reference frame for timing is Pierre's click-track, not my .mscz or midi files although they should be pretty much damned near spot-on timing wise...

MuseScore .mscz files apparently cannot be posted here ( I've tried in the past ), but the MIDI versions may be possible.

I should however leave this to Pierre, but if anyone wants my MuseScore implementation of FiddlerMan's arrangement ( given recognition, of course, in the credits/title Pierre ) - just ask me - I can post it somewhere elsewhere, where it can be picked up and used.   If you want it, PM me.

I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh - guntohead.JPG

LOL - to all on the forum - CPO knows already - but NO - it is NOT share-able on MuseScore-on-line   -    because it is NOT MINE TO SHARE.....   it is Pierre's (@Fiddlerman) 's arrangement - I have simply transcribed it to MuseScore for folks to work on - and it is not my right to post it openly without permission.   Ask, and ye shall receive... LOLOL ( i.e PM me with email address if you are interested )

I am just now tuning into this.  I am two almost two weeks behind and this looks like a pretty tough piece.

Everything else stops until I get this thing down.  All four parts.

Thanks again to the great Fiddlerman.

Fiddlerman,

Just a question on the video format should it be EQ'ed before sending or just the raw data.

Thanks,

Mark

Mark_1, please no processing. I prefer straight flat sound so that I can mix it so that it sounds like we all played together in the same room. :)

cool choice @Fiddlerman     I learned this song very early on guitar, around 14 years old. We did a version later in my band where rocked up the tempo for the final verse.

Look forward to hearing the finished project !!

Thanks Barry. I know you put the instrument to rest but if you feel a sudden urge, your input will be very welcome. :)
Thanks for dropping by!!!

Awesome you ex-lurkers !    Glad you enjoy the forum, and yes @Fiddlerman is a star for the effort he puts in to keep us ( mostly beginners ) in-line! LOL...

Please, the FM projects are super-fun - but never hesitate to contribute in other ways to the general forum - any topics of interest to you, or issues you have in playing etc... (OK, I don't know your playing level etc) are always appreciated ) and WELCOME ABOARD !

Thank you so much for the warm welcome!  I have learned a lot from Fiddlerman and all the forum participants while spying on you.   :-)    I'll try to chime in when I can on various topics.

My boyfriend actually plays the cello (adult learner a few years into it now).  He has written out the Violin 3 part in bass clef, which he will record for the group project.  We saw cellists in other Fiddlerman project videos, so I hope that is okay.   I'll do at least two of the violin parts, I think.  I know Fiddlerman doesn't want everyone to do just the melody line.

We like the song "The House of the Rising Sun" and the idea of being part of something with other people is very motivating!

That is really cool.  Although a beginner on violin, just a year and a bit, I have played guitar and other instruments over the last 40 years ( yup !  Bill gives away his age... lol like do I care... Nope... ).   Now - I cannot speak for @Fiddlerman - but I know, from past projects, we've had the occasional cello, mandolin, even plucked guitar as I recall...

I'm absolutely sure it will be fine - but to absolutely be happy about it - just PM @Fiddlerman directly - he doesn't bite (much) !   LOLOL - and since he has done the arrangement - he might have something interesting to add - you never know..  as I say - don't hesitate to ask Pierre directly, he'll be very welcoming and have suggestions (should they be needed), I'm sure....

And you're right - I find the melody line for most of these projects easier because I personally am not a great sheet reader yet - I can understand sheet, but cannot follow it at a playing tempo...  so the lead-part comes easier to me as a play-by-ear person - and I really have to work hard on other parts which just don't "carry a specific tune that I already know" - if you know what I mean...

I play a "slightly different" ( because that is how I hear it in my head ) to the formal score - but of course I am adapting to that for the project...

Once again - great to have new folks and contributors on board.  Thank you, and as I said in my last post - never hesitate from posting something to share - a "great performance you have done", or "this is something I'm really struggling with" - it is ALL GOOD...

Hey, Bill, learning different instruments is so much fun!  I think it's great you've tried a lot.  I mess around on ukulele sometimes.

I don't think Pierre will mind Les playing the cello.  If he doesn't want it he doesn't have to include it.  We're going to do it anyway for our own education and entertainment so we may as well send it in and see what happens.

Each violin part has its own issues for me.  I think I just need to practice and concentrate.  Like you I sometimes want to play what I hear in my head instead of what's on the page.

I bet Fiddlerman will start posting advice soon, so maybe I'll ask questions later.

Looking forward to seeing you on the final video!

I'll get on it guys. :)

Ahem, I think that I speak for the violin challenged when I say, HELP!!!! Those sixteenth notes are killing me. It's not that I can't read or count music, I can but, seeing the technique of playing sixteenth notes and also the thirtysecond notes you slipped in would be helpful.

Me, the cellist, here.  I've transcribed the score of Violin-3 to the bass clef.  I'm now working out the needed cello fingerings.  Also, trying to move most stuff to upper positions so I will have more notes to vibrate.
