@Fiddlestix Did you check your spam box? I received an email to confirm my entry. In gmail it just said it was from "Contest App". If you don't get a confirmation at all, I'd suggest entering again, if anything to be sure you typed your email right. I get so many emails from people signing up for things and typing their address wrong... credit card bills, various paid for accounts, amazon accounts..... the list goes on, lol.
@Schaick The way it gives you more entries is by entering emails of some friends, and/or sharing your unique link on social media.

@damfino K, I did that. I did find the context app email in the spam box. Thanks for the suggestion.
Why do people want a 2nd, or would this be your 3rd, 4th, violin?
Why I need a 2nd violin? I love Berty and he will always be my first love. I need a second violin so I can experiment more with the different tunings. Berty stays in tune so well that I hate to fiddle with the strings!!
At jam the pace is so fast that if I am always re-tuning I would miss out on many songs.

@Schaick Yay, glad I could help
I LOVE my violin, it's beautiful, sounds beautiful (my teacher even wanted to play it as a comparison for one of the students that stopped by with one they are testing out while violin shopping, because she said my violin is beautiful, so she wanted to compare it with mine. I know it is, but I love when other people say it, lol.) but I agree with you, I love the idea of having another that sounds a little different, experiment with different sounds a bit.

I would like a second violin so that one day I may have three instruments of student, advanced, and professional quality. The DR10 is probably an advanced instrument, slightly to a bit higher quality than my "student" classical strings VL70. Additionally, after I learn how to play proper double stoped harmony on this VL70, it would be nice to breakin / mature a new instrument in the way of multi voice music. I see that the decision making process for which instrument to play can be tough. Maybe I can warm up with the VL70 with scales and then perform multi voice doublestops with the DR10!
If I ever had a child s/he can begin on the VL70 permitting I have a new instrument to play.

This is a joke, right ?
I did get an e-mail of confirmation, but it doesn't say what the contest is. Never mentions Fiddlershop.
here's what it says.
Great news - we see you've just entered a contest.
However, to be eligible you must confirm your email so we know how to contact you if you end up winning (you are human right?)
Click here to confirm your entry:

Remember, you can earn bonus entries into the contest by sharing your special link that we provide. Extra entries are awarded when your friends use that link to enter too.
Best of luck in the contest!
P.S. Like how easy this contest was to enter? Run your own contest for free today by clicking here.
That link won't open. What a helluva place to send an confirmation. I never would have checked the "spam" folder. Thanks, Mandy for that info anyway.
I'm out...... Good luck to the lucky winner of whatever contest it is.

I clicked on the link you and it worked for me, so I guess that means you're confirmed!
And you gain more entries by giving out email addresses of friends and have THEM also sign up. I have no idea how to tell how many entries you've gotten, but the more people you successfully refer the more entries you yourself get.
Can you sign up with the same email addresses more than once (or do it daily) for more entries?

Not sure if it's confirmed or not. The link opens now if I click on it in the last post, but when I tried to confirm it in the e-mail I received, nothing happened. So, maybe by just receiving the mail is confirmation enough.
It's ok though, I already have 5 violin's, (one still in kit form) I haven't started yet.
Anyway, good luck to all the entries.
Ken.

@Fiddlestix 5? 5 violins? Any of them fiddles?!? hehe! Your mention of a kit form sounds interesting.
I asked my son what the email sent from the contest looks like. He said they are asking you to join the contest. I believe you only get the extra entries if they then join. BUT doesn't that decrease your change of winning?

fiddlestix HEHE!! As my signature says I started out playing the violin but then I realized at my age I would never be a concert violinist!! In came the fiddle tunes. I also enjoy Celtic tunes!
There is something weird about this contest in the timing. In the introduction it said the contest would be done December 18 but the countdown clock continued until Dec 26th.
Hey tell me about your kit,
.
