Thanks guys!!! cow-fingerscrossed

Done and done!
I'd like you to recommend some strings for my new viola, particularly since you've played it yourself and have a good feel for what would be best for it.

Well just because I've played it doesn't give me a clue to how it would sound with different strings but I am guessing that Zyex would really give it a boost in quality and sound. Unfortunately not that cheap. :-(

Awww, man!  Sometimes I think Sara is reading my mind... I was just about to post about annoying family, then decided to reread all the post.  Beat me to the puch Sara!  You may have won this battle, but the next joke is all mine.

I'm going to be receiving to electric violins soon to test. The Barcus Berry and Meisel Spitfire. Both of which are accoustic electric though I am not sure about the Meisel.

Below is a picture of it in any case. I'll contact Yamaha to see about a demo. I do have a distributor for them, just never bothered putting them on FiddlerShop.com

WOW!  That is a beautiful.  When you say acoustic electric, does that literally mean you can play it regular like an acoustic, but ALSO plug it in and playing through an amp? Or, is it just a style.  Prob a dumb question, I assume it means it can be played both ways, but I just wanted to be sure.  How much do these run?. lol

Exactly right. Usually they are optimized for playing with amplification.

Special price for a perfect FM bow with a mark on the hair. $10 off.

Just make sure you post here that you bought it so that noone else tries to buy the same bow. First come first serve. Also, make a note when making the purchase just in case I miss it. exactly Also, I have not tried to clean it. Might be possible, just don't want to cause any damage.

You should have received a gift voucher in your email now. Just use it when making your purchase for a regular FM Carbon Fiber bow and we'll know why.

This weeks special is by far the best price you can find on this pickup for acoustical violins.

The Band Wrap-Around Pickup System - Violin and Viola

This innovative pick-up system wraps around the instrument and is held in place with velcro. Does not require any modification to the instrument, nor does it leave any marks! Turns any violin into an electric instrument in less than a minute! Requires 1/4" instrument cable (not included).

Check it out.

Should we offer any of these frogs on our bows?

Which one would you want?
