Probably not exactly what you are looking for, but these 2 playlists seemed better than others & maybe worth a listen!

That's coming along nicely, I'm not familiar with that particular tune, it is sounding good though.
I hope to get back to playing more regularly very soon, have several started that I need to finish up.
Thank you for posting

Isn't this some of the 'lilt', 'groove', we've been talking about?
I love Paddy Canny's style of playing! 😊
Think he's a master of bow pressure & speed, like performing ballet moves, or a leaf tossed about in the air, then runs a bit forward - such a wonderful feeling of natural momentum. Everything I listen to of his pulls me in for the ride of it.
Paddy Canny's version of Garret Barry's - sounds like C lydian. He modulates the beginning of the 1st phrase a few times, but always returns it back to C - VERY clever!
Charles Monad settled on the other side of County Clare, in Doolin - like his relaxed style too, even though he plays concertina he always provides good notation, worth looking at. Charles has Garret Barry's Jig notated in Dmix.
Both of these sound much different than versions at The Session (in Gmaj, & not so sure some of those are even right, btw). I realize C lydian, D mixolidian, & G major, all use the same notes (F#) but I think there are differences in 'feel' by using other modes than ionian (major) or aeolian (minor).
Maybe not intentional on Paddy Canny's part, but I've heard Beato describe Lydian as 'Celestrial' - and I think between Paddy's choice of modes and playing style, make Garret Barry's sound that way!
Thanks for bringing this tune up! 🤗

Almost forgot - I've tried to pay special attention to how Paddy Canny holds his bow & uses his bowing hand in his videos - it's different, but VERY relaxed.
What I notice the most is his 2nd finger is VERY low on the frog, maybe past it - can't really tell if he's got a bit of a hold on the bottom edge of the frog, or not! Keeps a somewhat long 3rd finger, too.
He doesn't keep his pinky on it, but close & looks like it's ready for use at any moment.
...going to watch him more.

Sometimes Ill revist all the podcast I listened to and this morning did that. Listened to an episode of the Blarney Pilgram podcast with guest Caoimhin O Raghallaigh. He played Kitty Lie Over which some may recognise as Paddys Return. Just a jig...sorta a beginner type but wow.. gotta revist like he plays and maybe even on viola. just beautiful here. he credits hearing Seamus Innis as his inspiration i believe is what I heard. Ive tried to share from 23:39 which starts the discussion about it. after that and some hardanger tuning he plays.
I hope this shares correctly. from spotify. I miss this podcast, which unfortunately, ended after the pandemic.
