Cool ... got the click track downloaded into my mp3 player, this'll be fun!
I've also got my download speed sorted, so I can forever view videos by others ... bring 'em on!!

No, it's sort of like a dance track, reminds me of some of the aerobics classes I've been to, music with instructions on how to move.

Yes, it's good news week, not only did I get a boost with bowing, we got rid of bagpipe man, and I've got my new contact lenses. And I'm packing for a long weekend on Daydream Island ... snorkelling, scuba diving, cocktails in the pool ... mmmmm ... then a couple of days serious violin practise before I have to go back to work.
(Please insert emoticon of me holding cocktail glass ... )

Robyn, you're going to town with all these good news! I better pick up practicing my piece for Christmas project again when i received my bow from the fiddlerman!
Where do you go snokelling? If you do go to south east asia, there are some good places, too!

I'm giving everyone till the 28th of November to send me the finished product. When you are finished please send the file using Sprend. Click on "Browse" and locate the file on your computer. Paste "pierre@fiddlerman.com" in the space marked "The recipient’s email address" then click on "Sprend the file".
These files will be too big to email me directly unless you are only sending an MP3 or similarly compressed audio file.
If any of you frequently visit and participate in any other violin or fiddle forum such as "violinist.com" or "Fiddle Hangout" and feel safe about mentioning this project without getting kicked off the forum, please do. The more people we get the more exiting the result will be.

I just used Garage Band to merge the click track with a scored version of the Viola 2 (violin 1) part, so I can hear the notes, as well as the verbal instructions.
This way, I can hear Fiddlerman in one ear, and what I SHOULD sound like in the other when I play.

Garage Band looks neat. Just kind of sucks if you don't have a mac, or a cell phone. If you run your viola through the different amps for fun post it somewhere so I can see.
On "Cheap eBay violins" … Just tell people they are like a Charlie Brown Christmas Tree. With a little love, and some practice, they too can be made beautiful.

I think I'd better work on getting good tone before I worry about mucking around with modeling amps. The Garage Band foray was just to embellish the click track with the actual part I'm playing, in the hopes that hearing the notes in my ear will help me find them on the fingerboard...

Just curious why you don't have a cell phone? I don't have a home phone and can't really come up with any good reasons to have one.

I have been sick laying in bed all week, couldn't practice:( went to work one day but got even more sick!
I have company coming for thanksgiving, probably wouldn't make it to the Christmas project:(
Oh, no, I do have a week in between:P May be I could still make it!

Don't you dare quit on us pky. You can do it. I've said that I will add more videos here for people to criticize and I still will. I've had a lot going on the last couple weeks and haven't been practicing enough myself. There's lots of beginners here so don't worry about stage fright. The Christmas concert is on! Just have fun with it.
