Shofar is not a bad word at all as it is just a horn. Similar words from different languages are pronounced the same. If you didn't get HCs chauffeur joke you'll be ok. Shofar and Christmas is ok as both religions celebrate the same God. Nobody is arguing but some are laughing at a dirty joke.
Huh?
I'm not sure I know what you're talking about, MGN. I didn't make any kind of chauffeur joke, let alone a dirty one.
I attended a Christmas Pageant put on by Messianic Jews (Jews who recognize Yeshua/Jesus as the Messiah of prophecy), at which a Shofar (hollowed out ram's horn wind instrument) was played. I was a kid at the time, and the blast of the horn took me quite by surprise.
My statement was literal.
Any other interpretation or attempt to bend the meaning of my words to something else is entirely in the mind of the reader. I don't do dirty jokes in general, and certainly not in a public forum my kids read.
