Well I was going to get my recording done a few days ago for Red Wing but have been really busy. I will get it done by tomorrow or the next day at the very latest.

Update: I thought it might be fun to post for you all. Me working on Red Wing with guitar to get the rhythm down but my 2 cats you can't see in the vid were biting on my toes thinking I was just trying to play with them.

Hi guys, I was looking for the finished version of this and I can't find it.

Can someone point me to it?  I'd love to see it.

With Barry(now as "violin') taking a temporary break, the project is yet to take off.  Hope he comes back soon.

All I know is I practiced this song so much that I heard it in my sleep and my family was sick of it. Then Barry decided we didn't take him seriously or just didn't care so he left.  He changed his name a few times and came in to watch what was going on but hasn't posted since.  Somewhere along the line a big misunderstanding but no way to resolve it with him gone.

Ok, that's good and bad news.  I hope Barry comes back to help us with this, and I hope that I really haven't missed it after all, it sounds like such fun.

Keep me in the loop, I might now get more time to practise and actually do something useful!

omg I remember slowing down a super old recording of the original Reel de Sainte-Anne to find the notes and practicing it, I never recorded it though because the project seemed on ice.

I'm still all for it I played that song so many times that everyone here asked me to stop. My only problem with it was I cannot play by ear and need sheet music to play to. My reasoning for bowing out the first time was my father dying, not anything to do with the project itself.

I was hoping and thinking that you would be responsible for the project. I like getting help on as many projects as possible. If you got the impression that I was taking over, it was definitely not my intention. I was just trying to be involved so as not to ignore the project.
I'm a ways off the Christmas project now so now would be a great time to finish this one. I'll probably be posting the music for the Xmas project within 2 weeks.
I would definitely edit it if you like. Do you mind running the show?

When is the deadline?

Exact link to the back up track you want us to use? though I think you posted it earlier...

Where and how do we send the files? It's fine if it is to me through Sprend though I'll want your opinion on the mix before posting. I would just add everyone's audio to individual tracks and line them up to match.
I think it would be very cool if you wanted to mix the audio Barry.

Video, Audio or either?

Is this something that is open to everyone? Are we supposed to record or video ourselves playing it and send it to you? I saw the ghostbusters one, Im assuming its the same thing?

It's settled then. Sprend me your files by Nov 10th at [email protected]
Do not try to send me the whole file. Audio only or Video Barry?

I don't get it, why can't I read any of Barry's old posts?

This seems like a nice project. I can't participate, but I'll look forward to the result!

I deleted a lot of my videos off youtube and deleted the blank posts here. Honestly I thought this project was never going to be finished, but I was wrong

Aha. Nice to be wrong sometimes, huh? smile

Why cant you participate Alma ?

Oh, I'm just not good enough to play that yet. Listened to the midi of the sheet music you posted and woah! I can't move my fingers that fast and also to the right spots... facepalm

Alma- locate each of the notes on the fingerboard. play them very slow until youve got them and then gradually speed up. practice everyday for two weeks. You can definately do Red Wing, this is very good for learning. I know we can help you if you need it! That being said I will submit on this one.

I'm in on this one!

I saw the earlier posts about this when I first joined the forum and wondered what happened to it. I downloaded the sheet music and have been practicing because I like the song. I have fond memories of my grandmother singing this to me while the two of us were swinging on my swing set when I was a little girl.

I think I'm almost ready to record it.

Alma: you should give it a try...it's not as hard as it appears. The sheet music that Barry posted is simpler than some of the recordings you might find on-line. If you could do Ghostbusters, you can do Red Wing.

So, is the backing track in or out of ear?

Also, are costumes or props recommended? If so, what kind?

Thanks for resurrecting this folks!

thumbs-up
