I’ve got some general questions that I wanted to post answers to because others may have similar questions.  I am paraphrasing:

1. If I submitted more than one part, are all the parts going to be in the final video?

No.  I will use one video per person—the others you submit will be used as audio only.  If you submit more than one part, you can tell me which one you want shown in the final project and that will be the video I use.  Then your other submitted videos will be included in the final project as audio only.

2. I want to play the Violin 1 part—are too many people playing Violin 1?

No.  Whatever part (or parts) you choose will be fine—the final product will be good regardless of who plays what part.

3. Do I have to have 10 seconds on the video before and after I play? That’s a lot of time to stand in front of the camera and do nothing.

Yes.  I need the time to help me when I’m putting the videos together.  You do not have to stand in front of the camera all of that time (just need you there while you are playing!)—you can step in and out of the camera view if you want.

4. Do I have to show my face/can I submit audio only/etc., ?

To participate in this project, you need to submit a video of you playing your instrument.  In the video, your face must be showing, and we have to see you actually playing (so, not just your face).  No audio only submissions.

If you’ve got questions, you can post them here, send me a PM, or complete this form:

Interesting side note. I'm reading a set of mysteries that take place in Wales. In the second story is the following quote that is applicable to this thread!

... and the six harpists and the musicians from Cardiff University did a splendid job of making themselves heard above the hubbub, especially when only the harpists played the traditional Welsh tune of ‘The Ash Grove’ which silenced everyone with its sheer beauty and simplicity.

It's by Cathy Ace. A WELSH MURDER MYSTERY BOX SET BOOKS 1–4 four cozy Welsh murder mysteries full of twists (The WISE Enquiries Agency Murder Mysteries Box Set). Joffe crime thriller and cozy mystery. Kindle Edition.

Don’t like slurring 8th notes?  That’s okay, you don’t have to slur them if you don’t want to!

Or, if you just don’t like 8th notes at all, you can play the Violin 4 part I've just added that doesn’t use them.

Don’t like following a set rhythm?  Sorry, on that one, you’ve got to follow the tempo on the click track to fit in with everyone else!

You can see & hear at these links:

@SharonC -

You are AMAZING!

I finally felt better, so tried Ash Grove to the click track last night.  Will record it for you this weekend - while I still have the Arcus P4 bow on trial! 🤗

Good for you, @ELCBK. Viola or violin?

@Mouse -

I'll just be playing both Viola 1 and Violin 1 on Edgar - not feeling ambitious enough to do more.
