I have a question regarding file naming. Is VL violin or viola?I'm doing the violin 4 piece. I really wanted to do violin 1, but those darn triplets just come too fast for me to keep up with the tempo.

I’ve always felt that VL is ambiguous as well. I always name mine with Vln, which obviously stands for violin. It’s always been accepted.
Congratulations on completing the project and for making the wise decision to choose a manageable part!

Sounds silly now, but it’s never occurred to me until this moment to think musically when naming the video file. I always switch to my “computer scientist brain” and start fussing over meaningful computer file naming conventions. 🤣

I’m not the most technically savvy person but have managed to convert to mp4 and to locate the converted file…thanks for the instructions!
But I can’t figure out how to change the file name to vn1<my name>.mp4. I’m using the Files folder on my iPhone. Any assistance is appreciated.

I submitted a second video. Fiddlerman can use the while video from one, and just audio from the other. I was just going to go for audio for this second one, but decided to don my red hat and red shirt in case it was better. I think it is better. Since it didn't matter because Imhad submitted the video, pressure was off!

Kristie, I believe that when you submit it, it will ask for your name and email address, the name is the name is where give it the required name elements.
Also, for all participants wondering how to designate violin or viola, just a suggestion here,
There is a lot of discussion about VL, VN, etc for violin part naming. Fiddlerman does violin, so I would suggest go by what he used in the naming of his file, or just type out violin or viola. Why stress about it?

@Kristie I don't have an iphone, but if it works like an Ipad:
1. Press and hold on the file until a menu comes up - it will include a "Rename" option. When you release, the file will be highlighted, & the menu stays up.
2. Tap "Rename", and the cursor will go to the file name so that you can backspace and type in the name of the file.
Characterize people by their actions and you will never be fooled by their words.
