@Fiddlerman Thank you for clearing a few things up! It's a huge help.
@SharonC Wow, thank you so much for the detailed suggestions. After applying them, it's somewhat easier.
Hope I can get it done tomorrow morning, if not, oh well. At least I've learnt something.
You are very welcome. And don't worry, I extended the deadline JUST for YOU!!!!

Wait, deadline was extended?
Awesome. I am getting back in to violin and wanted to participate this year but have had, let's just say complications over the last few weeks. Hopefully can get fingers working again and get recording this week.

thanks for the extension. I will keep working on this but fear I may not be up to speed on this one. I'm getting down on myself for not pulling it together after all the prep time allowed. I do look forward to the finished product, as always.
@Ripton, it would be a shame to let this go after you’ve worked so hard on it for so long.
If you’ve been practicing Part 1 all along, it should be pretty manageable and quick to switch to Part 4. Part 3 is also very doable. These parts are needed to give the group a full, complex sound and there are fewer submissions of them. At least you’ll be part of the presentation and you’ll get a sense of completion.
If you’re still committed to Part 1, practice like a FiddleHed.😊 Jason’s techniques might help. Practice the challenging measures playing just the bowing rhythm at tempo on an open string without fingering the notes. Loop them. Next, put down the bow and play just the notes with pizzicato. Loop that. Then put it back together. Also try his technique of chaining, building up the runs note by note. Chaining nailed this piece for me.
The work on Part 1 can still pay off for playing at home now and for future Christmases.
Good luck! You can do it!
