I've actually been working on "The First Noel" to play for my family at Christmas.  I could do a solo of it.  Not Hanukah, of course, but a beautiful melody none the less.  Unless someone else really wants to play it instead.

Never mind maneuvers, just go straight at them.

Would this be the correct book to buy?  Trying to get it in a bit faster to get more practicing in.

*edit

Never Mind.  Amazon Prime is back ordered on it.  Its got a Nov 30th delivery date.

Bummer, yes that was the right one.

Awesome!  we will count "The First Noel" as claimed by @LyleA!  Looking forward to it!

@Fiddlerman, don't worry, I was finally successful with my forum jumping.  I extended the offer to the violists over there  at violaman.com to join us in this project if they would like.  I don't know how active the members are over there, but maybe we'll get a viola or two to round out our sound!

Oh I'm doing Holly Jolly Christmas with my instructor for our winter recital so I'll send that too.

Yea it's going to take over a week to get to me so hopefully I have enough time to practice to get it to you on time.

You will have PLENTY of time!  I've been spent probably an hour on "We Wish" (interrupted while trying to help the kids with homework and the wife with dinner), and I've just about got it memorized.  So... what I'm trying to say, is that it isn't that hard.  Frosty is going to be about the same as well.  You won't have issues!

Bought a Christmas song book two weeks ago and it was the other one in the series... Rats.  But I think my local music store had this one as well. I'll try to get it tomorrow after work. There are a lot of music stores in Vegas so I should be able to get a copy pretty easily.

I'm not 100% sure what you're asking, so here's all the info so you can go from there.  We will be playing "We Wish You a Merry Christmas," and "Frosty the Snow Man," as a group from Hal Leonard's Christmas Favorites for Strings book.  We will be playing the arrangement for orchestras pgs 18/19 and 22/23 dependent on whether you chose to play Violin 1 or 2.  Additionally, if you would like to add any solo pieces from anywhere, you are more than welcome to do so!

We are going to shoot for a deadline of 1 Dec so anyone contributing Hanukkah music can get it to me, and I can finalize the project before the end of Hanukkah.  If we do not have any Hanukkah entrants, we may move the deadline back based on where everyone is at.

I hope this answers your question.  If not, let me know.

ALL,

I MADE AN ERROR ON THE CLICK TRACK FOR "WE WISH" VIOLIN 1.  IT HAS BEEN CORRECTED.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO GIVE ME A HEADS UP IF THERE ARE ANY OTHER ISSUES, AND I WILL CORRECT THEM IMMEDIATELY!

I am ordering the book today.  I hope to be involved with this project. I have had computer issues for quite some time.. they appear to be resolved so I can log in and be more of a part of it all.

Also I have been working on O Holy Night for a while.  I am hoping I can have a break through and play it for the recital.

I spoke too soon. Amazon can't get me the book Until November 22 - December 1.

I have to look around.

Yeah Amazon is on back order, I ran into the same problem.  Shar music had the items, plus there a lots of other place too.   I got mine in today, hopefully I'll learn it in time.  It looks easy, but this will be my first real music piece to learn.
