I was running on the lake and I saw that BillyG was performing.

Sorry to miss what sounds like another great time.

Proud of you Toni. Keep it up. I had to take a break from running because of groin pains. Not sure it's the groin, but it only got worse when I kept running.
Now after 2 weeks of not running, I'm feeling pretty good and considering running again soon. :)

No worries, @coolpinkone :D I'll be happy when the weather starts cooperating more around here to let me get back outside. I feel like a sloth, haha.

And with my show, you didn't miss anything. I had a brain fart partway through and had some trouble getting back into my tunes, haha.

Awesome Holly - and when you're ready to join in - just let us know !

There are also sort of "annual events" - there's a "FiddleFest" (just use the Forum search for that term and you'll find out all about it).  We also ran an "Amateur Hour" (well, it actually ran for about 4 to 5 hours - but we needed some kind of meaningful title... LOL) last year in September I think - if there is sufficient interest we can do one again...

Wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon, thank you all for playing.   LOVED Lydias harp, just such a pleasing sound...

ditto.

BillyG even wore his Fiddlerman cap ... and now I know that Mandy is world's most OK fiddler (you've gotta watch the StreetJelly replay to know why :-)

LOL - yeah - I keep on hoping for some sort of "wonderful, positive effect on my playing" by wearing the FM cap - hmmmm, still waiting.    I did send a complaint to FiddlerShop (really!  all in fun of course) saying it was no use and I wanted my money back since it didn't make me play like Pierre....

And, you've just GOT to tune in live to catch the chat window as well - that's all from the audience, and trust me, it's half the fun as Barry hurls (good natured) insults at me about Scotland's national flower ( well thistles are weeds really, but it's the best we can do..   Wish I had never ever played that darned tune Thistle of Scotland...)

lol, you and Barry crack me up.

The chat room is half the fun, for sure :D I've gotten better at reading it while I play, so most of the time while I'm playing I'm reading what's going on in the chat. If it starts messing me up, then I turn away to make myself stop reading, haha.

But I'm glad we had a good turn out of players and audience this past Sunday :D It was fun :)

Did Barry ever get his stuff working? I kept refreshing, but after some time went by and I didn't see him come back I gave up. I don't know why SJ was so goofy.

@bocaholly That's kind of what our Amature Hour is for. Our very first one, those of us "hosting" the beginners all pulled out the first tunes we learned, and I pulled out my Essential Elements book 1 to play to for my first show (yeah, I say first, because on those event days you'll see me and Billy on several times filling gaps, haha). It's all about showing where you're at, kind of like a recital from the comfort of your home.

I might have to set up another poll to see if there is any interest in another Amature Hour this fall or winter.

Thanks for opening that little window of opportunity, Mandy.

I suppose if we a little group of us were doing a true amateur hour in a few months, I could muster up the courage for 2 or 3 shorties.

My impression from watching you, BillyG and a couple of others on Sunday was that you were all putting on full-blown, half hour long shows. REAL ENTERTAINMENT!

Yep, I think that is for the Music on the Porch thing Billy is taking part in. Will you be playing your show on your porch, @BillyG ?

Thanks @JamesRSmithJr and @damfino - and yes in answer to your question Mandy, the "porch" will be our garden-room / sun-lounge / conservatory ( I never quite know what to call it ...    :)    )

I expect to have a coupe of our neighbours there as well - Bill (yes another one!) and Pauline.   Bill plays mandolin / banjo and Pauline plays Ab ( or is it Bb darned if I can remember ) clarinet.   I *doubt* very much if we will accompany each other - it'll largely be soloing on the different instruments... Bill ( the other one ) is a bit of a "crooner" hahahaha - so you may just get some "sing-alongs" as well !!!

Whatever happens, should be fun - after all - that's what it's all about !

The Play Music on the Porch Day doesn't really have any specific connection with StreetJelly - I just thought it sort of "felt like a plan" and a cool thing to do :)

Let's see how it all goes come Saturday drummer

That sounds really cool, Billy :D I should be able to tune in live, but make sure you set it to replay, just in case :D I hit a local farmers market in the morning Saturdays with my mom, and sometimes we head out earlier than others.
