@coolpinkone . I enjoyed your performance of Scarborough Fair. Amazing how such a very old tune still sounds so great in our modern age!

Have recently started playing Scarborough Fair as an introduction to fingering 2nd finger low, and I didn't realize that there was a Fiddlerman version too.

@Fidelestre Cheers! I flipped the video as I didn't like it the other way. Playing left handed would be a disaster! Haha

Seems like the video is working for some people at least. :)

Very well played @SilverHalide (yay for 3rd position!), @Ripton , @LindaMc and @coolpinkone !thumbs-up

I am so behind on this thread. Nice job everyone! Don't know if I've seen all the videos but all the ones I've seen -- and I'm sure those that I haven't -- are well done.

Was thinking about posting another video here but the month's running out...maybe better to start working on a "Talk Like a Pirate" tune and, of course, the Halloween project.

When the work's all done and the sun's settin' low,

I pull out my fiddle and I rosin up the bow.

Okay, now that the party is closing, I'll contribute another piece. This version is Long, Long Ago is from Suzuki book 1.

This is the very first video I've ever posted, and I have to admit it was somewhat of a horrifying experience. But, I do see the advantages of making periodic progress videos. For example, I thought I was using mostly elbow and wrist, but the video clearly shows lots of shoulder action. Guess I have to practice some more standing right up against the wall to block my shoulder from moving so much!

Another party piece. This version of Oh! Susanna is from the Mark O'Connor Violin Method, book 1. This is not my primary method book - am just using it to add some variety to my playing pieces. The skill level corresponds nicely with Suzuki book 1.

Ok.... 8/31 has passed us ......do quickly it seems.   Feel free to enjoy the party and post more.

I will tally up the submissions and send to Pierre to use a random generator to pick the winner for the hat. (To keep it legit).  I am not including myself in the contest!  Good luck to all entrants!
