hi all!  looks like you would like us to weigh in on the group project suggestions that have been posted. Playing the viola, I liked Stephen Bulla selections, specifically Ode To Joy (it just never gets old:) and the Christmas Traditions medley.   Thanks!!!

Christmas Wreath Welcome Smiley

@carly.k - Thank you, but we're past that point.

Fiddlerman listed his reasons for deciding on "Let it Snow" & he has started to prepare this for us.

Just trying to get everyone enthused about it!

I've written all the parts, just need to do dynamics and bowing. Maybe I'll post the parts tomorrow. :)

Thanks for your patience!

Hey Guys,

Here is a rough draft of the project. I still need to work on it and make parts as well. Just want to have it clear before the separate parts.

Opinions are welcome at this time.

Looks good to me. :)

If you have time, I'd like to see suggested fingerings on the parts.

Looking good Fiddlerman!

A lot of work on your part- not to be overlooked!

Are you at liberty to disclose the software you use for scoring the sheet music?

I have some things to work on and doing it manually is awkward- I have great appreciation for the composers-of-old.

Looks good. Should be a fun Saturday afternoon project when I'm back to playing more than 20 minutes at a time.

Yup, looks fine @fiddlerman

For anyone wondering about the tempo - wait for the click track - which will be the absolute frame-of-reference for everyone.

@JohnBAngel - in advance of Pierre's response to you - I believe he uses "Finale".  If you are looking for score-writing software - there is also MuseScore which is freely available, and ( I have done this with Pierre on an earlier project ) it supports import and export of .musicxml formatted files - so - you can easily get/swap an exported arrangement from (say) Finale, or Sibelius etc etc... from someone who uses one of those, and import it into Musescore (and vice versa).   Oh - I said MuseScore was free - it IS - that is the application, fully featured is indeed free - but MuseScore also have a web site with thousands of scores - and recently (both for for licensing purposes and to support their server-costs and support for the site) they have introduced a subscription scheme if you want to download stuff - but it's quite flexible with yearly and monthly options.

:) @Ilona - it's just a draft from Pierre - to let folks get a feel for the piece - don't worry there'll be a lot more to come - Pierre usually ends up with 3 to 4 violin voices, same for viola and at least a couple for cello !!!!

All will unfold in time...

Smiley Snowflake Waves Smiley Hey all you Violists  and Cellists!

Fiddlerman just added the viola & cello parts - these, along with the violin parts, completes the sheet music for "Let it Snow".

I have all the parts that I can do downloaded to give a try.

This should be fun. I don't have holiday stuff up yet, but if I get one right and it is recorded, Fiddlerman is getting it. I am very inconsistent and who knows if that will happen again. Oh, maybe if I get to the point where I can record before the holiday stuff comes upstairs I can hang some of my Holiday material behind me as a curtain! Where there is a will, there is a way.
