there is two ways to produce sound from Ney, Arabic way, and Farsi way, which one is better and nicer in you opinion?

I prefer the Farsi, cannot explain why really, maybe a wee bit less windy and the notes are more clear?

Kind of hard to tell how much difference is playing style and how much is instrument, since those are different ney.

Of these two recordings I like the first a bit better, but I like hearing a bit of "wind" with such music.

I vote for the lighter of the two as well. Arabic sound. Though I fully understand how Brigitte can prefer the dark mellow Farsi sound. SO Arabic = Violin and Farsi = Viola smile

I like them both [what can I say, I am a Libra LOL].

I am tired today, so I would rather listen to Farsi way - it is more relaxing. If I were feeling energetic I might prefer Arabic way.

Flutist

I liked them both.. I too am a Libra.  :)

But I Like the first one a little better.  Both were very calming.  You are lucky to be able to make such peaceful soulful music friend.

Thank you Osama Saady!  That was beautiful.  I swam in the Arabian Sea.  How about a video on 'setar'.  I have heard 'oud'.
