Here’s a Christmas fiddle tune – not my comfort zone, but I like the tune, so I decided to just go for it.

I don't want to be left out, so here's my brisk version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.

My apologies to Adolphe Adam and lovers of good music everywhere.

kinda creepy...all in fun though facepalm.  I was hoping to go for a duet with this but thinking this will have to do for now.

@ABitRusty That was awesome!  What are you talking about?  That is a duet!  How did you record that? Did you record the violin first?

O Holy Night is one of my favorites.  Well done--Bravo!

@SharonC thank you!  O Holy Night IS my favorite.   I believe its Kathy Mattea's version that sticks with me but the one by Third Day, even though its got a different groove, is a close second.

Playing was the easy part here even though I scratched out the bow several times.  I recorded the guitar firat and played the fiddle to it on bluetooth from my phone.   What you hear was recorded with mics into presonus though.  Added the reverb in presonus...a tad too much   Used a camera on tripod and when done with guitar went over and recorded the fiddle.   Imported the video and split it into 2 different tracks.. lined everything up in that and turned off the audio in the video tracks imported the presonus audio before exporting to mp4.  To get the split effect there is a crop on the top track..just pulled the right side over about 50% to reveal the guitar track.  Main thing is to NOT move anything other than yourself...not the camera especially and dont change lighting.  doing around window with sun porobably wouldnt work.  the shadows would move.

@elcbk thanks!   like the owl gif 😁  i was giving me the stink eye for hosing up that last chord..lol.. decided not to record any dialog from the guitar to the fiddle...it wouldve been ugly..haha.. thanks again.  had fun making..so glad you liked it!

Fantastic, I enjoyed listing and watching that!

O Holy night is a wonderful song and you did it justice.

Thanks for the details on how the video was produced.

@ABitRusty that's beautiful, thank you!

Sorry, I didn't comment but listened to all of your contributions, plenty of nice tunes so far (I know next to no christmas tunes, so they're almost all new to me).

As for me, might participate, might not… not ready… but in any case I'll be ready for next Xmas :--)

Hey, @BillyG, more than a couple of days left...party runs through Epiphany (6 Jan).  Don't go cutting our party short laugh I'm planning to play at least one more, after Christmas Day.
